Our Story
OurSharedPlace was born from personal experience managing a family vacation property. Like many co-owners, we struggled with scattered information across email threads, text messages, and phone calls. Booking conflicts, lost vendor contacts, and unclear maintenance instructions created unnecessary friction.
We built OurSharedPlace to solve these problems. It's designed specifically for families and groups who share vacation properties and need a professional, centralized platform to coordinate usage, share information, and keep everyone on the same page.

Guest Requests is a lightweight ticket lane separate from your private member discussions: each request has a status (open, in progress, resolved) and can be assigned to a specific member. It's off by default and enabled per property, so it only appears where you actually host guests.

NEW: Booking Windows - Limit How Far in Advance People Can Book
Stop one person from claiming prime weeks two years out before anyone else gets a turn. Set a maximum booking window — a cap on how far ahead a check-out date can be — as a property-wide default, a per-member override, or a separate limit for public and guest inquiries. Zero means no limit; the server enforces it everywhere, including the iPhone app.

Write a free-form message with merge fields, feature your how-to articles and checklists, and let OurSharedPlace send each one on schedule. Outside guests get a private, no-login portal code that activates before their stay and expires after — and works in the iPhone app too.
